How To Wake Up Early

The most successful people in the world have made it a habit of waking up early in the morning. There is a growing group of people worldwide that are joining the 5:00 am club.
This group of highly motivated individual get up at 5:00 am every day. They have made a commitment to start their day at 5:00 am daily.
Let me share some tips I have picked up from personal development guru Brian Sharma.
In the beginning it is difficult for everyone to get up at 5:00 am. What you need to do is to develop a habit. Once a habit is formed, it becomes automatic.
Most personal development experts used to teach that it takes 21 days of repetition to form a habit. Recent research has show that it actually takes 66 days of repetition to form a new habit.
Start forming a habit of getting up at 5:00 am every day. Put your alarm clock way from your bed so that you will have to get out of bed to turn it off. Get up at the exact time (5:00 am) every day, don’t change this time. It’s not good enough to get up at 5:00 am on one day and at 5:10 am one the next day.
You will need to keep the 5:00 am wake up time consistent. Do this for 66 days and it will become a habit.
It will be hard for the first few days and gradually start to get easier, until it become a habit.
Break down the first hour of your day (5:00 am to 6:00 am) into three chunks of 20 minutes. Use the first 20 minutes to exercise your body. You can go out for a 20 minute jog or do aerobic exercise for 20 minutes. This will get your body warmed up and feel good hormones will be released.
Use the next 20 minutes to review your goals and tasks for the day ahead and in the future. Visualise yourself achieving your goals.
Use the final 20 minutes to exercise your mind. Read personal development book, listen to motivational tapes. Watch inspirational videos… there are many on YouTube!
Once you have used the first hour to exercise your body and mind, you will feel good about yourself and about the day ahead.
You can make it a ritual to jump out of bed at 5:00 am every day. This jumping out of bed will get the energy flowing faster than just lazing around in bed for 5 to 10 minutes after your alarm has gone off. Your alarm should act as a trigger for you to jump out of bed, no delays, it should be immediate.
The time between 5:00 am and 8:00 am are the golden hours. You can achieve so much more in these 3 hours, they have a magical effect on your mind, body and soul.
You don’t need 8 hours sleep, as suggested by most experts. 5 hours of undisturbed, deep sleep is enough to recharge your mind, body and soul.
If you make it a habit to get to bed by 12:00 am, you will be able to get your 5 hours of sleep. Don’t watch television or surf the internet before going to bed. Some people start surfing the internet on tablets and mobile phones, whilst lying in bed. This is a total no, no!
The best thing to do is have a caffeine free herbal tea and then meditate for 20 minutes before going to bed. By doing this you will have already relaxed your mind and body, which will make it easier for you to fall asleep.
You can choose to join this 5:00 am club and begin forming your new habit of waking up early, starting today!
