You are not your habits. You can replace old patterns of
self-defeating behavior with new patterns, new habits of the
effectiveness, happiness and trust-based relationships. ~ Stephen Covey
Have you ever been whacked alongside the head, or knocked off your
feet by unexpected situations in your personal or business life?Everything’s going to hell in a hand basket and your options suck.
Of course you have. We all have.
Chances are, sooner or later we’re all likely to find ourselves stuck in the middle of intimidating challenges without any idea of how to get back on track.
Here’s some simple habits you might want to use to make a shift into forward gear.
1.Listen to the voice that helps
We all have that voice that says..’not now’, ‘it can wait’, ‘maybe later’.This isn’t the voice of success. But it is a voice that grows steadily louder over time, especially when we’re around the wrong people, developing the wrong attitudes and continually making the easier choices.
Focus on the voice of achievement the one that says you can develop new attitudes. The one that says why not turn off the tv, get up off the couch, pick up a book, learn something new.
That’s the voice that helps and supports.
That’s the voice that gets you busy creating a vibration of success and achievement.
2.Muddling through doesn’t cut it
Remember you’re here for a purpose. It’s the power that gets you going and keeps you going. You were put on this earth to express your greatest self.
Your voice counts, your dreams matter, your purpose will lead the way. Stay open and aware, accept that something great is going on. Don’t spend your life picking up the pieces because you did too little too late.
There might be times when people or challenges try stop you or shut you up. Be bold enough to ignore them, and focus on what truly matters, living in alignment with your dreams and desires.
Unwavering concentration on a single purpose is the way to great achievements. This is the secret of super successful people.
3.Out with the old
Make peace. Especially make peace with yourself. With your past. With others. Then move on.
The past only has the power you give it.
Let go of any grudges and resentments. You’ll continue to re-live the past in some form or another if you never let it go. Life is good no matter what anyone else has done or said…don’t let them get to you.
Each and every morning you have a choice, poison your heart and soul with grievances or move on to the higher ground of joy and happiness.
4.Become an alchemist
The most successful people on the planet aren’t without problems. What they don’t do is focus on their inadequacies, or put themselves down.Don’t let problems overwhelm, use them as an opportunity to serve you. Begin looking for the opportunities in every challenge you have and don’t miss the messages each problem has for you.
Ask yourself, ‘what can I learn about me, what can I learn about my thinking, my beliefs, my choices? In the end what matters is that you don’t feel sorry for yourself, you don’t feel helpless. Remember your past victories, however small.
Become an alchemist, make everyday situations work in your favour, turn them into good fortune, into gold.
5.You’re never out of your depth if you know how to swim
Personal relationships are vital to our well being. We all need love and companionship. And we can all be a true source of growth and support for each other.
But not every relationship is successful.
If the ingredients of trust, loyalty, respect, commitment and nurturing are missing you’re in the wrong place. Sometimes when things don’t feel right and the ship is sinking it’s a good idea to jump overboard and swim to safety.
Choosing to be alone right now, doesn’t mean you’ve given up, it means you deserve real love and you’re not willing to settle.
You’re strong enough to handle life by yourself.
Stand strong in your truth and grace and don’t allow fear to hold you back. Be willing to wait for the one who’ll fill your life with real love.
6.Be a champion of enthusiasm
When you’re filled with enthusiasm and excitement about what you’re doing you’ll discover obstacles and blocks are diminished and become tiny speed bumps.Being focused on your passion, letting purpose be your driving force nourishes your spirit. Don’t live a watered down version of yourself, live your life in such a way that at the end of the day you can say, hand on heart, that was a life well lived.
Tap in to your inner excellence and determine to be true to your best and highest self.
Be too involved in your own wonderful life to pay attention to the critics, or the haters.
When you involve yourself with those who see your greatness when you can’t, who shine a light for you when you’ve lost your way, you’re protecting your enthusiasm.
It’s precious. It’s your most powerful ally on the way towards achieving your dreams.
7.Get out the anti-freeze
Don’t freeze up when things go wrong. Get pumped up.With the right attitude you’re capable of making great decisions, those that propel you towards the life you want.
Be inspired to take action.
If you’re trying to work out how to do something, its not inspired. If you get caught up in ‘having’ to make something happen, it’s not inspired.
If you have an idea to do something entirely different, it’s probably inspired action. When the actions you take come easily, it’s likely they’re inspired actions.
Be willing to make mistakes. Make ginormous mistakes, make new mistakes, just don’t stop, just don’t freeze and you’ll discover how amazing you are.
8.Spiritually speaking
Don’t fight against problems; take your attention away from them and the thousands of reasons you can’t accomplish or achieve what you want.Instead, concentrate your mind entirely upon the thing you want. The strength of your spirit directly affects every area of life.
The keys to accomplishing your vision for life, overcome intimidating challenges or simply keep your spirits uplifted, are desire, imagination and a firmly fixed attention on the feeling that your dream is already fulfilled.
You can transform or transcend your current reality.
What would happen if you accepted yourself as a being with powers of intervention? What would happen if you changed your attitude, changed your consciousness? You WOULD change your life.
Have you ever frozen, had a hard time letting of grudges or spent too many hours faffing? (There are times when I’m guilty of this one!).
Whether in business or life…
Have you managed to let go of old habits and adopted new ones that became a huge blessing?
